Frequently asked questions

Why choose GenoPalate over other GLP-1 programs?

Most programs stop at the prescription. We go further. Our program offers a holistic support system that helps you get better results and maintain them. You’ll receive guidance on how the medication works, how to manage side effects, and how to build habits for long-term success. We also provide expert support on nutrition, meal planning, and exercises to help protect lean muscle mass.

How do I qualify for GLP-1 medication through GenoPalate?

We’ve partnered with WellSync to make it simple. Start by completing a short online questionnaire.

If eligible, you’ll be connected to a licensed WellSync clinician for a virtual visit to review your health history and discuss the best GLP-1 medication options for your needs.

Clinicians may prescribe medications such as semaglutide (Wegovy), liraglutide (Saxenda), or tirzepatide (Zepbound) when medically appropriate.

Can I still join if I’m not ready for GLP-1 medication?

Absolutely. Our program is built around whole-body wellness. You can get started with our nutrition education, genetic nutrition analysis, and expert nutrition coaching at any time, and explore medication only when you’re ready.

How long will I be on GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1s are meant for long-term use, much like medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol. However, our goal is to help you build sustainable habits during your time on medication so you feel confident continuing your success if you decide to stop. You and your clinician can discuss tapering or maintenance doses as needed.

Does GenoPalate prescribe GLP-1 medications directly?

No. GenoPalate does not prescribe or fulfill any medications. We are your partner in nutrition, education, and long-term success. GLP-1 prescriptions and fulfillment are managed exclusively by licensed clinicians through our telehealth partner, WellSync. Our role is to support your journey with personalized nutrition plans, habit coaching, DNA and blood testing, and dietitian guidance—so you're fully prepared to get the most out of your treatment.

What results can I expect when taking GLP-1 medication?

On average, individuals using GLP-1 medications experience 10–20% weight loss*. Results vary depending on the specific medication, your biology, and the level of support you follow. That’s why we emphasize the importance of pairing medication with expert guidance and nutritional support.

What are the most common side effects of GLP-1s?

Nausea, constipation, and GI discomfort are most common. We prepare you with dietitian-crafted recipes, proven recommendations and tips from your nutrition coach, and supplemental support to reduce side effects and improve your experience.

What happens if the medication doesn’t work or I have issues?

You’ll have access to ongoing support through our nutrition coaching care team and the WellSync clinician network. If something’s not working, your clinician can adjust your treatment plan or explore alternative medications.

GLP-1 Rx drug products require an assessment from a licensed healthcare provider who will determine if the medication is appropriate. Your clinician will make a treatment decision based on your medical history and overall health after the completion of a telehealth consultation. GLP-1 receptor agonists—including Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, semaglutide, and tirzepatide—have been prescribed (on-and-off label) for weight management, including obesity, along with a reduced caloric diet and increased physical activity. Ozempic® and Mounjaro® are FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes treatment, but may be prescribed off-label for weight loss at a healthcare provider’s discretion. Take precaution with, and read all warnings concerning, GLP-1s, as they may cause serious side effects, including a risk of thyroid c-cell tumors. Do not use if you or your family have a history of a type of thyroid cancer called MTC (medullary thyroid carcinoma) or MEN 2 (multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome). See important warnings & safety info about these medications. As an alternative to FDA-approved branded products, where appropriate, a provider may prescribe a GLP-1 compounded drug that is effective when prescribed off label for weight loss, which is prepared by a state-licensed sterile compounding pharmacy partner. Although GLP-1 compounded drugs are permitted to be prescribed under federal law, they are not FDA-approved and do not undergo safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing review. Thoroughly review all warnings and essential safety information regarding these drugs.

Prescription medications require an online medical assessment and consultation with a licensed clinician who will determine if a prescription is appropriate. GenoPalate will connect you with an independent provider through our telehealth partner WellSync™. They will evaluate whether you’re a candidate for GLP-1 therapies and, if appropriate, write a prescription that you can fill at your local pharmacy.

Always consult a healthcare professional before starting, changing, or stopping any medical treatment. The WellSync clinician can conduct an initial evaluation but may refer you to a specialist or in-person care if needed. If you experience life-threatening symptoms, seek emergency medical help immediately.

Compounded medications are prepared in State Board of Pharmacy–licensed sterile compounding facilities or FDA-registered outsourcing facilities (503(b)). Although these facilities follow strict regulations, compounded drugs are not FDA-approved—they’re made to a provider’s prescription for an individual patient. Differences in strength, dose, administration route, and other factors may affect how outcomes and risks compare with FDA-approved products. Any compounded medication prescribed is based on a licensed provider’s clinical judgment during a telehealth encounter and review of your medical history.
